Shawn Varghese is an attorney with experience in litigation, regulatory compliance, and legislative analysis. He is transitioning his practice to real estate law, where he will assist clients with transactions and related legal matters.
Before earning his Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law, Shawn gained hands-on legal experience through internships and pro bono work. During law school, he assisted individuals with expungements, worked with public defense teams, and engaged in legal research for various organizations. He also served in leadership roles as vice president of DePaul’s Asian Pacific American Law Student Association and as the student director of the Neighborhood Legal Assistant Project.
Shawn’s background includes serving as legal counsel within a legislative setting, where he analyzed proposed laws, advised legislators, and worked with government agencies and private entities. Shawn has also worked in civil and criminal litigation, handling pretrial matters, drafting motions, and representing clients in court. He also has experience in Medicare compliance and workers’ compensation, advising on regulatory obligations and assisting managing attorneys with settlements. In product liability and toxic tort cases, he has represented clients in depositions and has argued motions on behalf of clients.
Outside of his legal experience, Shawn spends his free time reading, exercising, and spending time with his family and friends.
