Justin Kaplan joined PLG as an attorney in 2012 to 2015, and recently rejoined in 2022. Justin’s practice focuses on litigating complex commercial disputes, personal injury, product liability, professional liability, bankruptcy, construction, real estate, and government compliance related matters. Justin also handles a substantial number of administrative proceedings related to municipal code violations and employment related issues. His breadth of experience includes litigating partnership disputes, breach of contract claims, breach of fiduciary duty lawsuits, business torts, professional liability matters, intellectual property disputes, fraud claims, mass torts in both state level and in federal courts, as well as investigating and defending product liability actions across the country.
Justin consistently achieves successful outcomes for his clients. His background includes resolving disputes, both prelitigation and post filing of a lawsuit, and he is highly skilled in representing clients at trials, arbitrations, and mediations related to complex commercial disputes as well as construction related disputes. In addition, through motion practice, he routinely resolves disputes in their early stages, saving his clients substantial time and money.
Justin has extensive trial, arbitration and mediation experience. He has served as a first and second chair attorney for multimillion dollar trials and mediations. Leading up to and during trial proceedings, Justin’s clients appreciate his transparency, open communication, attention to details, advance preparations and strategies he formulates.
As a business counselor, Justin partners with his clients to develop legal approaches that will help them best reach their goals; and when litigation is unavoidable, he works diligently to resolve claims efficiently and effectively.
Justin lives in Chicagoland with his wife and four kids. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, being active and all things Kansas City sports.
